8m by 3m Multi-Purpose Unit for Storage and Leisure
The Challenge
Our client had an existing timber garage, but it was only half the size of what they needed. They wanted a larger, low-maintenance structure that could serve both as a storage area and a versatile garden room for work, relaxation, or exercise. The challenge was to integrate the new structure with the existing garage base while ensuring durability and functionality.
The Solution
We designed and built an 8m x 3m multi-purpose garden unit, combining a spacious storage shed with a flexible living space. The project involved tying the existing concrete garage base into a new timber base, supported by concrete posts, ensuring stability and longevity.
Key Features
Integrated Base Construction. We reinforced the original garage base by seamlessly connecting it with a new timber base, supported by concrete posts for long-term durability.
Low-Maintenance Roofing. An EPDM rubber roof was installed, eliminating the need for felt maintenance and providing superior weather resistance.
Dual-Purpose Design
Storage Shed. A dedicated storage area with double doors allows for easy access and plenty of space for tools, equipment, and household items.
Garden Room. The larger section features PVC doors and opening windows, creating a bright and inviting space. The client can use it as a home office, relaxation area, or even a gym for their exercise equipment.
The Result
The client now has a spacious and functional unit that meets all their needs—secure storage and a comfortable, multi-use indoor space. By integrating the old base with the new construction, we maximized space without unnecessary demolition, creating a cost-effective and efficient solution.
This project highlights how smart design and adaptable layouts can transform garden structures into highly practical, long-lasting spaces for modern living
